A police officer answered allegations that his conduct amounted to breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of:
It was alleged that on 29 December 2020 PC Woodman accessed the police national computer for a purpose that was not related to policing in that he searched for data relating to his private vehicle.
It was alleged that on 20 November 2022 PC Woodman accessed the police national computer for a purpose that was not related to policing in that he searched for data relating to the private vehicle relating to a friend.
It was further alleged that this conduct, if proven, amounted to gross misconduct in that it is was serious as to justify dismissal.
The hearing started on 4 September 2024 and was listed for two working days.
The hearing was held in public. The identity of victims/witnesses was protected during the hearing as appropriate.
The hearing was held remotely via Microsoft Teams.
The officer was given a Final Written Warning lasting for three (3) years.
