Police Constable Stuart Lynch will answer allegations that his conduct amounted to breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of:
On 17 July 2024, a With Cause Drugs Test was completed by PC Stuart Lynch by urine sample. On 19 July 2024, the test confirmed that the sample provided screened positive for Cocaine (Benzoylecgonine). This was reported at the level of 1000ng/ml; positive tests are typically declared in samples over 150ng/ml with a cut off value of 100ng/ml.
In that his conduct may bring the police service into disrepute and damage the relationship of trust and confidence between the police and the public.
As a result of that stated herein, if proven, PC Lynch’s conduct individually or cumulatively amounts to gross misconduct and his dismissal may be justified.
The Chair, Assistant Commissioner Pippa Mills, considered all of the evidence and found the following:
PC Stuart Lynch was found to have breached the standards of professional behaviour in relation to Discreditable Conduct and Fitness for Duty at the level of Gross Misconduct.
The officer was dismissed without notice.
