Notification of an outcome from an accelerated hearing held in public for Police Constable Daniel Naggea NA BCU, at Misconduct Hearing Suite, Patrick Dunne House, Sutton Police Station, 6 Carshalton Road, Sutton, SM1 4RF.
1. PC Daniel Naggea made a number of sexist and misogynistic posts on social media. The posts were placed on TikTok. The comments sexualised and objectified women. They also suggested that all women mistreat men and appeared to justify domestic abuse. PC Naggea identified as a police officer on his social media platforms.
2. PC Naggea indicated that he did not subscribe to any social media platforms on his vetting forms and this was inaccurate.
In the circumstances, the Appropriate Authority alleged that PC Daniel Naggeas’ actions breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour as set out in the Regulation 5 and Schedule 2 of the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020 namely:
In that his conduct may of brought the police service into disrepute and damage the relationship of trust and confidence between the police and the public. As a result of that stated herein, if proven, it was alleged that PC Daniel Neggea’s conduct individually or cumulatively would amount to gross misconduct and his dismissal may be justified.
The matter of Discreditable Conduct in relation to allegation 1 was found proven at the level of Gross Misconduct.
The matter of Honesty and Integrity in relation to allegation 2 was found not proven.
The officer was dismissed without notice.
