Officer concerned: Former Student Police Constable Thomas Ioannou
Date of hearing: 18 to 19 December 2024
Former Student Police Constable Ioannou, previously in Learning and Development, faced allegations that his conduct amounted to a breach of the Standard of Professional Behaviour in respect of Discreditable Conduct.
The allegations were that FSPC Ioannou, on 13 August 2022, whilst attending a social event at a nightclub, intentionally followed Female A into the female public toilets with a view to engaging in sexual activity with her.
Female A was deemed to be vulnerable due to her age and intoxication. Whilst being ejected from the female toilets by security staff, FSPC Ioannou dishonestly stated Female A was his girlfriend, when he had only met her that evening.
All allegations were found Proven and the sanction was Dismissal without notice, had the FSPC been a serving officer.
