Officer concerned: Former Police Sergeant Ian Bargus

Former Police Sergeant Ian Bargus, who was based at East Area Command Unit, answered allegations that his conduct amounted to a breach of Standards of professional Behaviour, in respect of ‘Authority, Respect and Courtesy’, Equality and Diversity’ and ‘Discreditable Conduct’.
It was alleged that between 6 May 2020 and 30 September 2020, former PS Bargus behaved in a way that was offensive, discriminatory and inappropriate to a junior colleague.
The panel chaired by Chiew Yin Jones found allegations proven at Gross Misconduct and issued a sanction of would have been dismissed. Former PS Ian Bargus will now be added to the College of Policing barred list.
