Officer concerned: Former DC Ian Gordon
Date of hearing: 2 to 5 December 2024
The Misconduct Hearing of former DC Ian Gordon formally based at Central West (AW) Basic Command Unit concluded 5 December 2024.
The hearing took place in person at Palestra House, 197 Blackfriars Road, London. Former DC Gordon attended in part alongside his Federation Representative Shaun Robinson.
It was alleged that during 2021 and 2022 former DC Gordon exchanged messages and left voicemails on the phone of a former female partner that were threatening, offensive and abusive.
It was also alleged that during 2022 former DC Gordon worked outside of the permitted conditions of his authorised external business interest.
It was alleged that in doing so the following Standards of Professional Behaviour were been breached:
The Independent Legally Qualified Chair, Ashwinder Gill and panel members Detective Superintendent Vicky Tunstall and Independent Panel Member Clive Manning considered all of the evidence presented by the Appropriate Authority.
The panel found all allegations against former DC Gordon proven at a level of Gross misconduct.
Had former DC Gordon still been a serving member of the police service, he would have been dismissed without notice.
