Detective Constable Nicholas Strachan will answer allegations that his conduct amounted to breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of:
- Authority, respect and courtesy;
- Equality and diversity; and
- Discreditable conduct
It is alleged that on 31 March 2023, whilst on duty at the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey), DC Strachan made an inappropriate comment in the presence of colleagues when referring to one of the Defendants’ barristers.
The matter and conduct set out above amount to gross misconduct, namely a breach of the standards of professional behaviour that, if proved, are so serious as to justify dismissal.
If you wish to apply to attend the hearing you must book no later than 1pm the previous working day. This is to allow for sufficient time to process the application. Any requests received after this time will be unable to be processed in time for the hearing and therefore will be rejected.
The identity of victims and witnesses will be protected during the hearing as appropriate.
