Detective Constable Maria McInerney, based at Operation Northleigh, will answer allegations that her conduct amounts to a breach of Standard of Professional Behaviour, in respect of:
It is alleged that DC McInerney, on or about 10 February 2023, conducted intelligence checks on Police systems in respect of a male known as Mr A. It is alleged that DC McInerney did not access the information in the proper course of police duties and did not have a legitimate or authorised policing purpose for accessing the information.
In accessing confidential information without a proper policing purpose, DC McInerney behaved in such a manner which discredits the police service and undermines public confidence in it.
The identity of victims/witnesses will be protected during the hearing as appropriate.
