Misconduct hearing for Officer X

Officer X, based within the South West Command Unit, will answer allegations that their conduct amounted to breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of:
- Equality and Diversity
- Discreditable Conduct
It is alleged that in 2022 during a conversation with colleagues, Officer X stated: 'Imagine if I am walking by myself at night and a big black boy attacks me.'
They are also alleged to have told a colleague from a minority ethnic group they were being promoted on the basis of a ‘tick box exercise’, by reference to their ethnicity.
It is further alleged that this conduct amounts to gross misconduct, namely a breach of the standards of professional behaviour that, if proved, is so serious that his dismissal would be justified.
If you wish to apply to attend the hearing you must book no later than 1pm the previous working day. This is to allow for sufficient time to process the application. Any requests received after this time will be unable to be processed in time for the hearing and therefore will be rejected.
The identity of victims and witnesses will be protected during the hearing as appropriate.
