Police Constable Michael Wien based at Central North Command Unit, will answer allegations that his conduct amounts to a breach of Standards of professional Behaviour, in respect of:

On the 25 January 2020 whilst on duty, PC Wien drove a marked police vehicle using blue lights and sirens when he had no authority to do so. PC Wien drove in excess of the speed limit, mounted the curb and lost control of the police vehicle, crashing into street furniture.
Following this incident PC Wien gave a dishonest account in relation to the cause of the collision.
It is alleged that in acting this way Police Constable Michael Wien breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of ‘Duties & Responsibilities and Honesty & Integrity’.
It is further alleged that his conduct, if proven, amounts individually or collectively to gross misconduct and is so serious as to justify dismissal.
The identity of victims/witnesses will be protected during the hearing as appropriate.
