Tint Tests guide/manual

I note you seek access to the following information:

Please provide me with a copy of any training material and any operating guide/manual for the “TintTesta” device used by Roads Policing officers.

Please also provide any internal Met Police policies in relation to the testing and prosecution of window tints.

Decision

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.

Please find below information pursuant to your request above.

Please find attached the TintTesta Operating Manual.

The device is used by Authorised Vehicle Examiners as appointed by the Chief Officer of the MPS to test vehicles on roads in accordance with s.67 of the Road Traffic Act.

Examiners operate the device in accordance with the instructions supplied and issued by the manufacturer.

The MPS have no policy in relation to the prosecution for offenses described. This is found in legislation within the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986.
