Please can you provide me with the total number of rape allegations reported to the Metropolitan Police in 2021 and 2022, along with where a charged/summonsed suspect has been entered into a report.

In the past year we have charged +210 more rapes and +228 more other sexual offences that compared to the previous 12 months resulting in an addition +438 overall SD for Total Sexual Offences.
We are committed to transforming our response to rape and are undertaking significant action to improve victim-survivors’ trust, reduce the amount of time spent waiting for justice, and increase the number of cases successfully brought through the courts.
The Met is one of a number of police service supporting Operation Soteria Bluestone – a national research project focused on transforming our approach to rape investigations. We are beginning to see positive changes from this work, including an increase in the number of cases in which we are achieving a positive outcome for victim-survivors.
We are constantly working to take the pressure off victims – part of our proactive work is about using data to identify predatory men and remove them from the streets.
