Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.23.029721
I note you seek access to the following information:
I would like some figures of driving courses provided in the Met.
1) How many officers in the Met are response drivers?
2) How many individual courses have there been over the last year, and how many are planned for this year.
3) What is the pass/fail rate of a response driving course?
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Q1 - How many officers in the Met are response drivers?
There are currently 6,048 Response drivers in the MPS (both pursuit and non-pursuit)
Q2 - How many individual courses have there been over the last year, and how many are planned for this year.
A total of 192 Response driver courses were scheduled last financial year. On each course there would be 3 students which is 576 Student Spaces.
The aim is to deliver 1000 response car student spaces in the 23/24 training year.
Q3 - What is the pass/fail rate of a response driving course?
527 are shown as having completed the course and 44 failed. This is an 87% pass rate and 7% fail rate. Please note that 81 officers are still shown as not resulted, so the pass/fail rate would change once these have been resulted.
