Q1 - In light of section 4 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts (P.C.S.C) Act, has a new strategy or policy been drafted by your force in relation to Unauthorised Encampments.? If so, is this document accessible to the public?
This document is currently under review following the changes in legislation and will be amended to reflect this.
Q2 - Has your force implemented section 4 of the P.C.S.C Act? If so in what capacity i.e., direction to leave, confiscation of vehicle and or arrest.
The MPS has not had to implement this part of the Act.
Q3 - Have there been any prosecutions in your area under section 4 of the P.C.S.C Act?
The MPS do not hold information in relation to prosecutions, this is held by the Crown Prosecution Services (CPS). However, the MPS does collate information in relation the people who have been proceeded against (PPA). Since August 2022 a search was conducted and with the data that was returned I can confirm that none of them were in relation to unauthorised encampments.
