Q - Can MPS Trojan units preform tactical contact on vehicles due to the compressed gas in the back of their cars? Also, can they participate in TPACS?
MO19 Specialist Firearms Command Units (Trojan units) are able to undertake a number of vehicle-specific tactics in line with their training under the National Police Firearms Training Curriculum. The carriage of any compressed gas does not preclude tactics whereby physical contact may occur. Trojan units are able to provide firearms support for vehicle pursuits in line with MPS policy.
Q - Whilst we are here, are MPS Commercial Vehicle Units allowed to participate within fail-to-stops?
MPS Commercial Vehicle Units Fleet includes vehicles which can instigate a stop, but only pursue initial phase.
