Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.22.027731
I note you seek access to the following information:
I seek the following information in relation to the Constable to Sergeant promotion process that launched 16 May 2022.
Can you please advise me:-
1) The total number of candidates that were selected for assessment?
2) The ethnic and gender breakdown of that number? It will meet my needs for you to provide the number of white males as they self-identify or whom you have identified as such.
3) The total number of candidates that passed the assessment process?
4) The ethnic and gender breakdown of that successful cohort? Again, the number of white males will do.
5) The marking criteria that the assessors were working to?
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Q1 - The total number of candidates that were selected for assessment?
1,244 candidates were invited to assessment centre.
Q2 - The ethnic and gender breakdown of that number? It will meet my needs for you to provide the number of white males as they self-identify or whom you have identified as such.
623 self-declared as white males.
Q3 - The total number of candidates that passed the assessment process?
623 self-declared as white males.
Q4 - The ethnic and gender breakdown of that successful cohort? Again, the number of white males will do.
350 self-declared as white males.
Q5 - The marking criteria that the assessors were working to?
All officers and staff who assess as part of our promotion processes are provided with a briefing and marking criteria to ensure consistency and transparency. To release the full criteria would provide unfair advantage to those who sit future promotion processes.
