Prohibitions surrounding police station

I note you seek access to the following information:

In a recent encounter with a member of the public, Sgt stated that "there are a number of prohibitions surrounding police stations". I have made extensive searches of the Government Legislation Database, and can find no record of such prohibitions.

Therefore under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide all such documented prohibitions commensurate with the statement made and if no such prohibitions exist, what sanction would be attributable for such misconduct.

The MPS can confirm that no specific prohibition exists surrounding police stations but officers/staff are being advised to establish intent through polite engagement mindful of the rights of others to be present at the location and the right not to answer any questions being put to them.

In relation to the sanctions we can safely say that we are a learning organisation and that we will re-circulate the guidance in relation to police station security matters.
