Data on honour based abuse from April 2021 – March 2022

I note you seek access to the following information:

I am writing to request the following information: In October 2022, the Honour-based abuse (HBA) Annual Data Return (ADR) reported 427 HBA offences were recorded in your jurisdiction during 2021-22.

1. Please can you share how many victims of those HBA offences were identified within your jurisdiction during 2021-22?
2. Please can you share how many perpetrators of those offences were identified within your jurisdiction during 2021-22?
3. Please can you share the breakdown of gender and age of those victims? I would be grateful if you could respond by email I look forward to hearing from you soon.

It should be noted that HV flagged crime reports indicate the following:

- A concern that a crime or incident is Honour related results in a flags being placed on a crime report.
- This does not mean that this is an offence has taken place, only that there might be a HBA risk or connection to either a crime or incident.
- Flagging is an imprecise recording system as it relies on officers knowing that the flag exists and remembering to use it.
- It can also be used for officers to flag up a Safeguarding Risk to Partner Agencies, and may not result in a charge but provide education and support via partnership work.
