Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
According to attendance records kept locally up to 31 July 2022 (and up to 09/09/2022 in brackets), the number of officers in this force that were trained in the following College of Policing licensed programmes are as follows;
• SCAIDP (Specialist Child Abuse Investigation Course): 158 (180)
• SSAIDP Specialist sexual assault investigators development programme: 9 (29)
• SOIT (Sexual Offences Investigative Techniques): 21 (35)
Please note that SOLO is the College of Policing term for a SOIT.
Additional context to accompany the provision of data today
The above courses have only been run in their current form since October 2021.
Before then, the Advanced Safeguarding Course incorporated large elements of SCAIDP and SSAIDP and was a holistic course that also covered the work of the Community Safety Units i.e. Domestic Abuse, Hate Crime, Forced Marriage and Honour Based Violence.
On the new launch date, SSAIDP and SOIT were paused. Both these courses were resumed in the last two months hence the low numbers.
Separately to the above data provided today, CPIC (Continuous Policing Improvement Command) have SOIT Coordinators that have SOIT training records dating back to Sep 2020. The total they have sent for training since then, including on the current course is 109 officers trained.
