1. The total number of NEW (not Renewals) Certificate Applications for a Shotgun and/or a Firearm which have been received by the London Metropolitan Police FET, but have not been processed yet.
2. The total number of Renewals (not NEW) Certificate Applications for a Shotgun and/or a Firearm which have been received by the London Metropolitan Police FET, but have not been processed yet.
Please also provide the same statistic for 11 August 2019 for comparison purposes.

Searches failed to locate 2019 data as it is not held by the MPS. In 2019 we used a paper system for applications and once these have been placed on the system, they move to the next stage of the process. Therefore we are unable to tell you how many applications may have been sat awaiting process on a set date in 2019.
Please be aware that on receipt of a FOIA request, it is logged by the Triage team, then forwarded to an Information Manager (IM) to deal and forward to the relevant unit to provide a response.

Q1 - The total number of NEW (not Renewals) Certificate Applications for a Shotgun and/or a Firearm which have been received by the London Metropolitan Police FET, but have not been processed yet.
During week commencing 15 August 2022, there were 4 grant applications awaiting to be Quality Assured by the administration staff to ensure they have all the relevant details and reports we require to process.
Q2 - The total number of Renewals (not NEW) Certificate Applications for a Shotgun and/or a Firearm which have been received by the London Metropolitan Police FET, but have not been processed yet.
During week commencing 15 August 2022, there were 20 renewals awaiting to be Quality Assured by the administration staff to ensure they have all the relevant details and reports we require to process.
It should be noted that the application process involves applications being processed through a number of stages within the department. Firearms also accept applications for renewals up to 6 months prior to the expiry date and all applications for renewal work with expiry date as a priority.
