Police business interest request whist under investigation from 2019 to 2022

(1) How many police officer business interest request was supported while they were under investigation by the professional standard from 2019 to 2022

(2) How many police officers got promoted while they were under investigation by the professional standard from 2019 to 2022

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.

Please find below information pursuant to your request above.

The DPS team for Police officer/staff Business Interest complete a complaints and discipline check on ALL business interests applications and yearly renewals and if the applicant is subject to a LIVE complaint or conduct matter, the matter is reviewed by the Detective Chief Superintendent within DPS to consider whether the complaint or conduct matter would impact the approval of the Business Interest.

Between 2019 and September 2022, one officer under investigation was promoted.
