I would like to know about the employment of historical traffic wardens by the Metropolitan Police Service, details such as uniforms, roles and responsibilities, numbers of wardens, historical traffic warden pay and also the year in which the traffic warden role in the MPS was discontinued.

HR believe the last of the roles were terminated on 31/03/2011.
Pay
Our historic understanding is that Traffic Wardens were paid at a Band T rate of between c£17,800 - £20,871 basic salary. They would have also been eligible for Shift Disturbance Allowance of 12.5%, dependent upon the shifts they were performing. Female Traffic Warden’s received £47.30 per year Stockings Allowance and £53.32 Shoe Allowance. £55 tax allowance for cleaning uniforms was available to all Traffic Warden’s.
They were also paid Zone 1 Location Allowance of £3,294 or Zone 2 was £1,790, depending on where they were stationed.
