The Guardian reports on the new Commissioner's plan to root out prejudice and corruption. According to the newspaper:
'The big drive against prejudiced and corrupt officers will see a boost of more than 30% in the number of investigators in the Met’s own “Line of Duty unit”, known as the Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS).'
The figure of 30% (130 investigators) suggests that the DPS currently has a staff of just over 400.
1. Please provide the number of staff the DPS has (WTE).
2. Please provide the number of officers/staff/others whose conduct the DPS opened investigations into in 2017/18.
3. Please provide the number of these investigations that have concluded.
4. Of the concluded investigations, please provide the number of officers/staff/others investigated who
(i) resigned
(ii) retired or
(iii) were dismissed.
