I am writing to you today to get information on the 3 Area Territorial Support Group, my following questions are below.
1) Typically TSG officers have been seen in carriers, but can TSG officers be in other vehicles? (IRV's/PTV's/Minibuses etc)
2) Does Sergeants/Inspectors have their own callsign same way Charlie Echo 1 is an Inspector callsign?
3) Does Chief Inspector and higher have their own callsign when going on shift, same way Oscar Tango 51 is the Chief Superintendents callsign within RTPC?
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Q1 - Typically TSG officers have been seen in carriers, but can TSG officers be in other vehicles? (IRV's/PTV's/Minibuses etc)
TSG can be in other vehicles such as Q cars, IRVs, but will generally be in carriers.
Q2 - Does Sergeants/inspectors have their own callsign same way Charlie Echo 1 is an Inspector callsign?
The TSG have specific unit call signs. The Inspector or Sergeant for these units will have a different but similar call sign.
Q3 - Does Chief Inspector and higher have their own callsign when going on shift, same way Oscar Tango 51 is the Chief Superintendents callsign within RTPC?
TSG senior leadership team (SLT) do have callsigns but the SLT when working on public order duties will be allocated a call sign by MO6 dependent on the aid they are working on.
