Road Traffic Incident Team
Q1 - Does the Road Traffic Incident team use any form of 3D recreation in relation to floor plans or crime scenes?
Yes the Forensic Collision Investigation Unit (within Roads Policing) does use 3D data.
Q2 - If yes, what devices/software do you use?
We capture the data with Riegle VZ400 and VZ400i laser scanners and analyse the data with the RiSolve and PC CRASH software packages
Q3 - Is the 3D recreation software you use sufficient for its purpose within your department?
Yes
Q4 - Does your department use any form of CAD in relation to 2D floor plans or crime scenes?
Yes Risolve and PC CRASH can both create 2d plans – we also use LisCAD and AutoCAD
Q5 - If your department does not use any form of CAD or 3D recreational software why is this?

3D scan data is gathered at every scene that we attend, 2D CAD outputs are created for court packages.
Property Services Department
Q1 - Does the Property Services Department use any form of 3D recreation in relation to floor plans or crime scenes?
Yes the Property Services Department does use 3D data.
Q2 - If yes, what devices/software do you use?
Various – depends of specific project requirements. Devices include various professional measured surveying instruments and software includes various CAD, 3D and GIS software applications.

Yes

Yes
