ALLEGATION TEAM
In 2022 the number of staff investigating just online reported road traffic incidents (not including collisions) was 12 people (Band E’s) and 1 manager (Band D).
If the staffing level has changed please can you tell me the average number of staff per month in 2022 (to date)?
There were 12 members of staff in 2022 per month, not including staff leave. There are two more staff joining end of 2022/ early 2023 and another manager.
If it is the case that videos are not reviewed due to a lack of staff/resources, please can you tell me how many videos that affected per month in 2022 (to date)?
All ‘Allegation’ cases have always been investigated in time until October 2022 where 184 cases were lost due to lack staff/resources. The Team had three staff down due to annual leaves honoured in the month of October.
COLLISION INVESTIGATION & PROSECUTIONS TEAM (CIPT)
The CIPT Team is split into North and South Areas and all staff deal with viewing of digital media; and we can confirm that for the current period (January to October 2022), the North Team has 57.5 Band E and 7.67 Band D staffing levels that view and deals with digital media. On the South Team, we have 56.7 Band E’s, 6.5 D staff on case investigation; with additional 8.1 staff on Collision Prosecutions Team, for both South & North (Band E’s) and 1 Band D. Also are 2 Disclosure Officers (Band D’s).
For the second part of your request, we can confirm that the staffing levels across North and South CIPT have not changed other than usual vacancy factor.
Thirdly, in CIPT all media that is received in collision cases is viewed. Under no circumstances is media not viewed due to a lack of resources.
