Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.22.027102
I note you seek access to the following information:
Please can I ask whether or not any of your detainees in your custody centre have ever been given a room to speak to their solicitor that either has a microphone / intercom unit in? and if so what were the conditions?
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Please can I ask whether or not any of your detainees in your custody centre have ever been given a room to speak to their solicitor that either has a microphone / intercom unit in? and if so what were the conditions?
The standard operating procedure is to take the detainee to a consultation booth or a room that is designed for consultations. These do not contain microphones or intercoms.
Where this is not possible (as was the case during the Covid 19 Pandemic) the microphones and intercoms in the rooms or areas affected are disengaged.
