PCs who have opted out of the police pension scheme this year

I note you seek access to the following information:

1. I would like to know how many police officers have opted out of the police pension scheme this year in comparison to the last two years.

2. And also, how many of these officers who opted out, are in the first 4 years of their careers.

3. Ideally a breakdown of which year of service they're in when they opt out.

Notes for the dataset
The table provided shows the number of Officers that opted-out each month from January 2020 to May 2022. This includes people that were in a Pension Scheme and then opted-out or who were already opted-out when they started with the MPS.
Columns C-H show how many whole years of service had been completed when the Officer opted-out. As your request also concerns the first 4 years of service, the MPS has grouped all opt-outs where the Officer had completed 4+ years of service together.

There are also cases included where people have since opted back in. The MPS has counted anyone who’s Pension Scheme details showed that they were enrolled on either 26 April 2022, or their last assignment before leaving.
