I note you seek access to the following information:

A. Whether your police force records attacks as a separate offence
B. The number of dog attacks recorded by your police force in each of the years from 2017 to 2021.
C. The number of arrests made in relation to dog attacks by your force in each of the years from 2017 to 2021.
D. How many dangerous dogs were seized by your force in each of the years from 2017 to 2021.
E. How many dogs were destroyed in your force area each of the years from 2017 to 2021.

The MPS can obtain information regarding offence code 008/21 – ‘Owner or person in charge allowing dog to be dangerously out of control in any place in England or Wales (whether or not a public place) injuring any person or assistance dog.’ We could do offences and outcomes with this offence code, but unfortunately nothing else regarding your request.

So we would be able to answer:
• Number of offences by borough.
• Number of outcomes.
