Please can you confirm some information about the "Multiple Attacker drill", which is part of the College of Policing approved tactic SHAPE technique.
1. Does your force use this ‘Multiple Attacker drill’ to teach the SHAPE defensive technique during Officer Safety Training ?
2. If so, what specific protective equipment do you use for officers involved in the training?
3. Do you use a headguard for the centre officer?
4. Have you had any injuries doing the multiple attacker drill?
5. Have you been informed that an officer in another force suffered a torn retina from the multiple attacker drill?
6. If you do not teach the multiple attacker drill is there any reason why not?

Not that we are aware of.
Q6 - If you do not teach the multiple attacker drill is there any reason why not?
Some elements of frames/shapes from NPSM have been incorporated in to various lessons within MPS PPST delivery using other drills/training exercises.
