Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.22.023667
I note you seek access to the following information:
I would like a breakdown of the categories and expenditure that constitute 'Frontline policing' in the MOPAC/MPS budget, for the years 19/20 and 20/21.
And a forecast of the same for the year(s) 21/22. I would like this breakdown to be set out by borough.
I would like this data in calendar year and financial year format.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
While Frontline Policing is responsible for the day-to-day policing of all 32 London Boroughs, its structure is no longer based around Boroughs but 12 Basic Command Units (BCUs), each of which is geographically composed of multiple Boroughs. The MPS Finance system reflects the Frontline Policing structure and as such we cannot provide a breakdown of expenditure by individual London Borough as this information is not collected.
It is also the case that the remit of Frontline Policing extends beyond the 12 BCUs and includes a range of centrally-based pan-London units and in order to comply with the terms of the request the expenditure of the non-BCU units has been included in the attached tables. Internal restructuring means that the names and precise roles of units can change over time and as a result not all unit names will appear in each table as the use of some designations cease and others are introduced.
Finally, in order to provide the complete picture of expenditure the attached tables include both MPS funded and external grant funded expenditure.
