Q4 - In 2021 did you have a specific budget for investigating fraud? If so, please state how much it was.
There is no specific budget for fraud investigations since such investigations may be carried out by different units at both a central or local level, and the scale and complexity of the fraud will determine which unit will carry out the investigation, if any.
Q6 - When fraud is reported to you, do you advise the victim also contact Action Fraud?
Yes. In the UK victims of fraud are encouraged to report allegations of fraud to the police via Action Fraud. This is because Action Fraud is the national reporting centre for fraud and cybercrime. It collects reports about fraud on behalf of the police in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
