I was advised by Mayor’s Office that you can provide the following information please.

How many officers do the Metropolitan Police have at present? How many of the total work Part time?

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.

Please find below information pursuant to your request above.

The MPS currently have a headcount of 33,851 officers, this does not include those on National Functions, Career Breaks, PCSOs or Specials.

Of the 33,851 officers 1,905 are working part time.

Please note that headcount (number of officers) is calculated differently to Strength which counts FTE.
