1. Since the recent change in the law with regards to police batons, do you provide secure storage at the relevant police stations for ASP/Batons like you do for CS spray?
2. If you don’t provide this, can you advise how these offensive weapons are being secured inside the officers houses away from other family members etc?
3. Could you also provide if you have actively tried to advise members of the public of the recent change of the law, thus preventing them from unknowingly breaking the law?

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full that is recorded for Question One (1) and Two (2).
Q1 - Since the recent change in the law with regards to police batons, do you provide secure storage at the relevant police stations for ASP/Batons like you do for CS spray?
Q2 - If you don’t provide this, can you advise how these offensive weapons are being secured inside the officers houses away from other family members etc?
Yes, storage of batons are at the officers based location, secured in a lockable locker or cubbyhole.
Q3 - Could you also provide if you have actively tried to advise members of the public of the recent change of the law, thus preventing them from unknowingly breaking the law?
No recorded information is held in respect of Question Three (3).
To provide further context, when new legislation is created it is the responsibility of the Home Office to inform the general public of that change.
