Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.22.023559
I note you seek access to the following information:
South Wales Police are currently reviewing our limited duties policy and we are undertaking research on whether Student Constables would fall under this policy.
Our initial research would suggest no and instead they would fall under the student officer Regulation 13 process. As such, we wish to make contact to establish if student constables would fall under your limited duties policy within your Force? If not, please can you confirm what process they would fall under? This piece of work is marked urgent and I would be grateful if you could respond at your earliest convenience.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Probationers can be placed on short-term recuperative duties but cannot be placed on adjusted duties. If the probationer is not likely to be physically and mentally fit to perform the role of Constable, we would aim to dispense with their services using the Regulation 13 process.
