Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.22.023298
I note you seek access to the following information:
Would it be possible for you to tell me whether there have been any convictions for the London murders listed below and whether the conviction(s) might have been secures got quashed on appeal or not?
The murders are as follows:
1) That of Henry Newman, a 56 year old park keeper battered to death in Valentines Park, Ilford, on or shortly before 23 March 1979.
2) That of William Barnard, a 65 year old Cricklewood man who died of a heart attack on 29 January 1987 after being assailed by two youths who apparently wanted to rob him of money but couldn't because he didn't have any on him. (Also wouldn't mind knowing wherabouts in London the assault took place. Once source claims it was in Neasden but I can't be sure that it's correct).
3) That of John Nolan, a 50 year old man kicked and stamped to death in Kensington Park Road while the 1997 Notting Hill Carnival was on.
Each of these cases has little or no information about it on the internet proper, and searches at the British Newspaper Archive website aren't always that helpful either because although that site is quite extensive, a crime on which one or more early reports can be found there doesn't necessarily also have a later report there that says so if someone was subsequently acquitted or found guilty of it.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
