The amount in £ collected in fines for the following offences:
Holding a Mobile Phone When Driving, Dangerously Overtaking Cyclists, Ignoring Closed Lanes on a Smart Motorway, Speeding, Drink Driving, Drug Driving, Careless Driving and Driving Without Insurance.
- The number of overall offences related to each example in the above list.

Please provide the information in the form of a written email response, word or excel document. If it is not possible to provide all the information requested, please provide as much as available, e.g. most recent 2 years.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
First, with regards to the amount of Pound Sterling collected in fines for the above offences, the Police would not know the exact amount as a percentage of the cases would have gone through the Courts and we wouldn’t know the court outcome or results to enable us to provide an accurate figure. Furthermore, all fines are paid directly to Her Majesty’s Treasury Department and advise that the applicant contact them direct for this part of the request.
We can however, confirm that the fine for using a mobile phone whilst driving or supervising a learner-driver is £200, £100 for speeding offences for both Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) and Cameras; and £100 for driving without insurance.
We have attached the data pursuant to the rest of the request above. The data presented in the attached spreadsheet and is the breakdown of TOR’s and Camera Speeding - Notice of Intended Prosecutions (NIP’s) with their various disposals for 2016 to 2022 date range but note that 2022 data is not yet available.
