Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.22.023118
I note you seek access to the following information:
I would like to request any data currently held regarding incidents flagged with the Cuckooing flag in relation to the following:
1. The numbers of Cuckooing flags per month from April 2019 – Current; if possible, by
Borough.
2. How many victims of cuckooing were disabled?
3. The percentage breakdown (or other, if % not available) of the crimes cuckooing flags were
attached to (e.g. 40% of cuckooing flags recorded were against drug-related crimes).
4. When a cuckooing case is flagged, what does this trigger? Referral to additional services or
support or is it primarily a data marker?
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
In response to questions 1, 2 and 3 above.

Q4 - When a cuckooing case is flagged, what does this trigger? Referral to additional services or support or is it primarily a data marker?
If cuckooing comes to police attention either through the community, partners or police themselves an adult come to notice report is created to send to the local authority to trigger a strategy discussion between police and partners to establish the best way to support the victim.
A crime report is also created for the victim so that all safeguarding and interactions can be recorded.
INFORMATION
Important if the person at risk comes up more than once:-
• Cuckooing Forums are held monthly for each Local Authority.
• The Forum is advisory rather than to provide case management, but as other relevant agencies are in attendance – action can be prompt if the risk dictates.
• The panel will discuss a move and / or a closure order. f the information is limited then initially it may be an increased police presence.
• IF THE SUBJECT IS A REPEAT VICTIM, then Cases remain live and are reviewed as part of a running order of live cases each month. This ensures the victim does not fall off the radar.
