Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.22.024965
I note you seek access to the following information:
I would be interested in accessing how many officers in charge of guarding Downing Street have faced disciplinary actions for not enforcing the Government's own laws of gathering socially during lockdown.
There is absolutely no way that the officers on the gate and in the building could be unaware of what was unfolding in Downing Street so they have not enforced the Government's own laws.
At a time when ordinary people were being fined £4000 for having social gatherings, it took a whistleblower to uncover the Government not following its own rules and the Metropolitan Police not enforcing it.
I believe this is a fair FOI request as I believe the public should know that senior officers are taking their officers failings seriously.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
No officers have faced disciplinary proceedings.
With reference to the statement that there is no way that officers could be unaware of what was unfolding in the building, please bear in mind that Downing Street occupies a wide area and officers cover only a small part of it.
