Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.22.023831
I note you seek access to the following information:
1. What procurement process was undertaken by your local police force since March 2020 to grant contracts supplying cloud computing software.
2. Who, outside of your local police force, were involved in the decision to use cloud computing services supplied by Microsoft.
3. Does your local police force have a list of preferred suppliers when it comes to the procurement of cloud computing software.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Q1 - What procurement process was undertaken by your local police force since March 2020 to grant contracts supplying cloud computing software.
The MPS follows a variety of approaches. This information is already published, all significant procurement activity is made public via MOPAC publication and can be reviewed on their website. The MPS has used a combination of the Crown Commercial Service Digital Marketplace and other central government frameworks, valued added resellers and also awarded through our existing system integrator contracts.
Please refer to the following link for the Digital Marketplace
Q2 - Who, outside of your local police force, were involved in the decision to use cloud computing services supplied by Microsoft.
All decisions were made solely by the MPS and our sponsors The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC). We did take advice from the National Police Chief Council sponsored National Enabling Programme who have overseen the implementation of Office 365 and associated services across policing.
Q3 - Does your local police force have a list of preferred suppliers when it comes to the procurement of cloud computing software.
No.
