Q1 - What is the high profile grid?
All MPS Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests are recorded on an electronic case management system called CYC-Freedom. A weekly report is then generated from all high profile requests, called the High profile report.
Q2 - Which teams within the Met have access to the high profile grid?
Technically everyone in the MPS has ‘access’ to the high profile reports. However, the link to the reports is circulated to stakeholders with an interest in the high profile report and Individuals within: DMC (Directorate of Media and Communications), the Commissioner’s Private Office, Decision makers and/or business leads, CPIC (Continuous Policing Improvement Command - consists of specialist Tactical and Policy Advisors responsible for specific areas within policing), Commercial Services, Staff officers and or PA’s to lead of the business area, FOIA Team, Specialist Crime, Specialist Operations, Legal Services, DPS (Directorate of Professional Standards), Frontline Policing, HR (Human Resources), Digital Policing, CT (Counter Terrorism), Met Operations, Finance, Property Services, Transformation, Specialist Firearms and HQ Strategy & Governance.
Please note that anyone can request to be included in the circulation.
Q3 - How often is the high profile grid updated?
The FOIA High Profile Report is ‘updated’ or ‘updated and circulated’ once per week.
Q4 - Please provide me with a list of all categories of data captured by the high profile list - e.g. name, occupation, phone number, subject matter of FOIA. These might be represented as row or column headings. If they include drop-down options e.g. occupation - journalist; member of the public; politician please provide the options.
The High Profile Report contains the following headings:
• Case number (cyc-freedom reference)
• Deadline (20th working day)
• Reason for high profile - selection consists of: impact on partners, conduct related, firearms related, high profile operation/investigation, historic sexual offences, likely media interest, sexual offences related, SO (Specialist Operations) related, media generated and political party generated.
• Responsible Person (the Information manager dealing with request)
• Request (summary with personal details removed)
