Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.22.024338
I note you seek access to the following information:
1. Many vehicles used by the MPS now have a white sticker in the window, what does this mean?
2. A new blue/black colour scheme has started to be used on many ARV's, why is this?
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
The white sticker is a 'No Smoking' sticker which is placed in all police vehicles.
In terms of base vehicle colour for armed response vehicles (ARV’s), we have not adopted a blue or black colour scheme. The global impact of COVID-19 has severely disrupted the production of new vehicles. To mitigate late replacement of end of life vehicles, we have purchased a number of available vehicles in standard colours. The volume of livery installed on these vehicles ensures it remains fully identifiable as an emergency response police vehicle.
