Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.21.022028
I note you seek access to the following information:
Can you please provide the following information covering the period of 1 Jan 2021 – 31 Oct 2021 and the same period for 2020.
1-) Which road in London has recorded the most traffic offences?
The value of fines issued to drivers on this road. Please break down by month, type (e.g. speeding), number of traffic offences, and value of fines.
2-) Which road in London has recorded the most parking offences?
The value of fines issued to drivers on this road. Please break down by month, number of parking offences, and value of fines.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Please find attached information pursuant to your request above. We have presented the total number of Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) and Camera offences (NIP’s) issued for the locations in London Metropolis area with the most traffic offences. We have broken the data down into ‘totals’ and ‘Paid and Confirmed’ disposals for the date range – January to October 2020 and 2021.
On the spreadsheet is also the road that has recorded the most parking offences. Police would not hold the value of fines involved. The monetary value of fines is a matter for Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunal Services (HMCTS) as a number of the cases would have gone through the judicial (courts) process and we wouldn’t know the court outcomes or results to help us in knowing the value of fines collected.
Please contact HMCTS for this part of your request.
Please note that the MPS is responsible for parking in only a limited area in London so you would also need to contact Local Authorities.
