With regard to The Metropolitan Police Economic Crime Command, I would like to be supplied with the following information broken down into annual figures from 2016/17 until 2020/21;
Q1 - Headcount. In June 2019 the Met created the Economic Crime strand part of Central Specialist Crime. This consisted of 265 Officer posts and 38 Police Staff posts as of July 2019, total 303 Officers and Staff posts. In September 2021, Economic Crime has 289 Officer posts and 43 Staff posts, total 332 Officers and Staff.
Q2. Budget - Following the Specialist Crime redesign in 2018/19 we do not report budgets at the granular level to respond to the FOI.
Economic Crime is one of the strands within the overall Central Specialist Crime Command.
The Budgets below represent the total for Central Specialist Crime Command and include Economic Crime, Vulnerability, Cyber Crime, Flying Squad (Kidnap), Major Enquiries and International.
