I note you seek access to the following information:

1. How many Account Freezing Orders have been issued for accounts of people over the age of 18 in each of the last four years up to the end of Oct 2021?
2. How much money was frozen in each of these years for this age group?
3. How many Account Freezing Orders have been issued for accounts of people under the age of 18 in each of the last four years up to the end of Oct 2021?
4.How much money was frozen in each of these years for this age group?
5.The age of each of the people under 18 whose bank accounts were frozen.
6.The amounts of money frozen in each case
7.The crime offence group with which the Freezing Order was associated.

The attached spreadsheet answers Questions 1-6 and Q7.

• The data has been taken from figures produced from Joint Asset Recovery Database (JARD) and the end of each Financial Year and, for this year, 31/10/21.
• Any cases amended or updated since will not be reflected in the above.
• Unfortunately, we do not hold 4 years’ worth of data. The MPS began using the legislation in April 2018 and at the end of FY 18/19, the DOB wasn’t recorded in the downloaded reports.
• It should also be noted, that these values are based on the “estimated value” as recorded on Jard.
• The unknown cases are where the DOB has not been recorded on Jard.
