I note you seek access to the following information:
1. Please provide the latest figure for the total MPS Police officer (FTE) percentage breakdown of LGBTQ+ officers to total officers.
2. Please provide the number of LGBT+ officers in senior positions within the Metropolitan police.
3. Please could you break down the information given for questions 1) & 2) by borough command units.
4) Please disclose the amount the Metropolitan Police has spent on LGBT+ outreach for the between January 2020-Present. This includes money spent on:
a) Working with NGOs/Non-profits e.g. Galop/Stonewall
b) Money spent on training from outside organisations for Met police officers
5a) I would also like to request information on the LGBT+ liaison officers. I would like to request how many of these officers there are, and what percentage of them identify as LGBT+.
b) How many complaints have been received in the past 3 years in relation to alleged homophobia/ homophobic discrimination by officers/staff on other officers/staff ?
c) Have any been upheld? If so, how many?
d) Can you please provide details about each upheld complaint (ie the nature of complaint, date committed, number of officers involved etc)?
e) In each case where a complaint was upheld, what action was taken against individuals concerned?
f) How many cases of homophobia/homophobic discrimination have gone to an employment tribunal within the past 3 years?

We have conducted searches but have been unable to identify any spend in relation to Galop.
With regard to Stonewall we have identified payments to Stonewall Equality Ltd for corporate membership of the organisation and these sums are (exclusive of VAT) -
2021/22 - £2,500
2020/21- £2,500
2018/19 - £2,500
We have identified further payments to Stonewall Equality Ltd for the following, also exclusive of VAT -
April 2019 – attendance at the Stonewall Workplace Conference - £2,990
Sept 2018 – attendance at the Stonewall Workplace Conference - £420
July 2018 – attendance at the Stonewall Leadership Programme - £1,905
Q4b - Money spent on training from outside organisations for Met police officers
In order to provide the costs of training supplied by external organisations we would require the details of the companies concerned. The purchase of externally provided training is devolved to MPS Business Groups and without details of the supplier(s), or the name of the MPS contact for any training provided, we cannot assist further.
If you can provide the external organisations you are looking for and submit a new FOI request we can see if we can find this for you?

There are 132 LGBT+ Advisors across the MPS, please note that the LGBT+ Adviser role is a voluntary position that is addition to an individual’s day-to-day role.
We do not record the percentage of LGBT+ Advisors that identify as LGBT+ and under FOI we do not create information that isn’t recorded.

The number of new claims received by the MPS with an element of discrimination in relation to sexual orientation from April 2018 – Dec 2021 is sixteen (16), this is broken down into financial years.
2018/2019 – 7
2019 /2020 – 6
2020 / 2021 – 2
2021 / Dec 2022 – 1
Of the above claims, the number of claims with an element of discrimination in relation to sexual orientation from April 2018 – Dec 2021 that went to a Final Hearing at the Employment Tribunal is one (1).
