I note you seek access to the following information:

REQUEST 1:
I have just called to ask about recent honour killing records in London.

I would like to know from January 2019-January 2022 how many honour killings there were in London.

If you can break this data down in calendar years that would be great.

REQUEST 2:
I would like to know from January 2019- January 2022 how many honour killings there were in London.

I would also like to know how many reports of honour killings you've had since January 2019.

I would like this broken down into calendar years and the boroughs in which they have taken place.

Decision

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.

Please find below information pursuant to your request above.

Please note this information has been extracted from the Crime Reporting Information Systems. All Murders were first run through CRIS for dates between 01 January 2019 to 17 January 2022, for Honour based violence option on the CRIS record. The result was ‘0.’

A search was then run just for the “Hate /Domestic and Carer” flag. This was to capture any possible scenario whereby a homicide had occurred and was not correctly marked/flagged on CRIS as Honour Based.

This returned 64 hits which an analyst went through individually to assure that none were incorrectly flagged. Between 01 January 2019 to 17 January 2022, there were 0 records of ‘Honour Killings.’
