We do not centrally record formal cause of death. Initial notification of the death of a member of our team is recorded centrally, but this is often prior to cause of death having been confirmed. Local line managers provide support and information to our colleague’s family and their wider team.
The loss of a colleague is a tragedy for a policing family like the Met. We have an extensive wellbeing offer, which puts the needs of our people at its heart, to do all we can to support them to stay mentally and physically well.
The answer to request two is below:
2019 | 78,275 |
2020 | 69,187 |
2021 | 73,836 |
2022 | 66,567 |
