Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.22.025580
I note you seek access to the following information:
On the IOPC website it states, "There is no time limit on making a complaint, but it is best to do it as quickly as possible after the incident/s occurred. If more than 12 months have passed between the incident (or latest incident) and the date of your complaint, then the appropriate authority may not investigate it."
Can you confirm within the last 2 years, how many complaints have been investigated when the public complainant has waited more that 12 months before filing their complaint.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
There are currently 782 cases being investigated where the public complainant has waited more than 12 months (365 days) before filing their complaint.
Please be aware that often the actual incident date is unknown.
