Stolen phones reported and recovered by the MPS from January 2021 to August 2022

I note you seek access to the following information:

1) The number of stolen phones reported to the MET police from January 2021 to August 2022 (or as close to the present day as records allow).

2) The number of stolen phones cases investigated by the MET police - as in actively taken on as cases to solve - from January 2021 to August 2022 (or as close to the present day as records allow).

3) The number of stolen phones recovered by the MET police from January 2021 to August 2022 (or as close to the present day as records allow).

4) The number of mobile phone thieves arrested by the MET police from January 2022 to August 2022 (or as close to the present day as records allow).

Important: Please ensure the notes page is read in conjunction with the data.

The MPS are not able to provide arrest figures because all theft and robbery theft records would need to be read which would result in a cost refusal. There are around 1,000 records.

Also may I also bring to your attention that the data provided is only as good as relying on the officers to update the system when the mobile phone has been recovered.
